The Well Done Awards

The 1st Annual Well Done Awards was an overwhelming success! A full house was witness to some amazing entertainment, including Katharine McPhee, Bebe Winans, and the Groovaloos, as well as hearing encouraging words from Chris Gardner, the man behind The Pursuit of Happyness. However, the highlight of the evening, was hearing the incredible stories of faith; seeing people who have been used by the Lord to do amazing things while starting with only a little. Also, pledges were made to sponsor 50 churches, who wouldn’t otherwise be able, with $1000 each to take on Kingdom Assignments of their own…simply incredible! This is only the beginning of the rich stories we are hearing as people around the world take on their Kingdom Assignments. Search the site to learn more about getting started with a Kingdom Assignment of your own and click on the following link to see a complete event wrap up in the OC Register.

SANTA ANA – It's the little church that could, poco a poco- little by little.

Gardeners, maids, plumbers and high school students are raising money in what has become a modern-day Bible lesson. On Sept. 18, the Rev.  Jose Mendoza of Getsemani Church in Santa Ana gave 20 church members $50 each and told them to go forth and do good.

The money came from former Aliso Viejo pastor Denny Bellesi and his wife, Leesa, who had a $50,000 profit from selling their house. The couple is giving $1,000 to a church in each state. So far, 19 churches have signed up...(read more)

Kingdom Assignment Founders Visit the Oprah Winfrey Show

In November of 2000, Pastor Denny Bellesi and his wife Leesa had an idea. One Sunday morning at his
church, he asked for 100 volunteers, and gave each of them a brand-new one-hundred-dollar bill. Their assignment was simple: Use the money to make a difference. Pastor Denny explains, "I told them, 'Invest it in changing lives. How you invest this money is between you and God.'"

ALISO VIEJO – Giving away money was easy. Giving away time was something altogether different.

Coast Hills Community Church - made famous by giving 100 of its members $100 bills and telling them to use the money for good - has completed another life-affirming task. Two thousand members of the congregation pledged to give away 90 minutes of their time to help someone else.

They called them assignments from God.

And now their good works have been recognized by a slightly lower power - Oprah.
